The LEAVES project is focused on developing an online service that supports older adults when dealing with grief as the result of losing their spouse. In LEAVES, end-users are guided through their grief journey by the conversational agent Sun. LEAVES will be implemented and evaluated in three countries (the Netherlands, Switzerland and Portugal) in order to test its clinical effect, to assess its business case, and to evaluate the end-user experience. The project has a clear focus on market exploitation.

The dialogue that Sun provides is powered by the WOOL platform. Sun is used to provide the onboarding, to act as the ‘glue’ between the different modules that LEAVES provides, and to administer the different questionnaires within the LEAVES service (e.g., to monitor the end-user’s mental health).
